Contents. The 10 Best Minecraft Mods Anyone Can Use. is an incredible game that lets you build just about just about anything from a blocky landscape. It's grown by leaps and bounds since it was first launched, but for some that's simply not enough. Dip your toe into the amazing world of Minecraft modding with these 10 mods that are easy enough for anyone to install.
Installing mods with Forge. Backup your game files. Step 2: Download Forge. Step 3: Install Forge. Step 4: Launch Minecraft. Step 5: Download compatible mods. Step 6: Install the mod. Step 7: Launch Minecraft.
If I can do it, you can do it. The Minecraft modding community is as active as it is sprawling and fractured, but their amazing creations do everything from minor tweaks to complete overhauls. The downside is that the frequent updates to Minecraftand the new game launcherhave slowed the development of many popular mods. To make matters worse, modding requires adding new software and (in many cases) making changes to critical game fileswhich is not for the faint of heart. That's why this list focuses on the best mods that can be easily implemented in Minecraft, using the new launcher too. Unfortunately, many of the mods will only work with older versions of Minecraft. But fear not: the new game launcher is incredibly valuable in this regard.
With the launcher you can create different profiles and link them to separate Minecraft.jar game files. It not only gives you access to multiple versions of the game (from 1.5.1 to the latest 1.6.2) but also as many modified versions of the game as you'll need.
Explaining the steps to create and register.jar files with the new launcher would take more space than necessary, but. The steps you see here are the same you'll need for loading different versions of Forge or Minecraft and keeping them separate in the Launcher. I'll admit that it seems rather complicated, but two days ago I, too, was too afraid to mod Minecraft at all. Since then, I've created dozens of game profiles, and have no compunctions about modifying critical game files. The game is pretty forgiving, and, once you learn the basics, you'll be modding with the best of them.
Windows Personal Computer (PC) Tutorial:. Open up the search bar for applications. Type run into the search bar and open it. This will cause a pop up menu labeled run to appear. There will be a search box within the run application. Search appdata to locate a file labeled roaming. Inside of the roaming file, there is a file labeled.minecraft.
Open the.minecraft folder. Open the folder labeled bin. Go to the file labeled minecraft.jar.
Open the minecraft.jar with a program named WinRar. Insert any.class files needed and close the minecraft.jar. Make sure to save any changes if asked. Notes: You do not have to use installers before modifying the minecraft.jar unlike if you were on a MAC. WinRar is however required to modify the minecraft.jar. (MAC) Tutorial:.
Open up your finder application. In the menu that appears full of files, locate the one named Library.
Locate the file named Application-Support. It is usually near the top of the contents inside of the folder labeled Library. Locate the folder named minecraft.
Once inside of the minecraft folder, open the folder labeled bin. This folder contains the minecraft.jar.
Slowly double click the minecraft.jar so you are able to rename it. Rename the folder minecraft.jar.zip. It will ask you if you want to use.jar or.zip.
Select.zip to save your changes to the folder’s name. Open the now newly created folder named minecraft.jar.zip which will give you a new folder named minecraft.jar. This will now act as your minecraft.jar. You are now able to drag any.class files needed into the jar to play the mod you wish. Notes: If you are going to use any mod installers such as and you are also going to manually install some mods, make sure to use the patchers first. If you do not, the patchers will not recognize the folder as a true.jar and you will be forced to force update your minecraft from the installed minecraft application to generate a new.jar. Other Notes: I believe that you may also just search%appdata% to locate the roaming file on a PC instead of going to run first.
This may not be correct and it would be nice if someone could inform me because I have been forced to use a MAC because my PC is broken.
